Well 12 years will still get me almost decade in the left seat before age 65. Does make my early retirement plans less realistic. ExTO sure has taught me I don’t need the extra money much. No other real impetus to upgrade in my mind.
For me I have three solid reasons not in any particular order:
1. I’ve been chasing this my adult life. I would like to make the seat at some point, a career goal so to speak. While I suppose making it to SWA (or any major) is significant, there’s still that next step.
2. Medical. Sick time pays out at the rate you are at. I’d rather have the left seat pay in that scenario.
3. Mergers. No question about where you want to be in the event of a merger.
