Warm fuzzy not needed/helpful, was looking for input because I did scour the FAQ of the LOA that started positive space commuting (so the PWA doesn't address this).. and figured there'd might be someone else who already had this situation happen to them in the past 12 months who frequents these boards and might provide edification for everyone..

Anyhow, I was advised by my ALPA rep that this is a gray area and not to make the PS booking now but instead just wait until rotation sign-in to make my DDH listing in iCrew. Further feedback was solicited from me and any others to write-in to reps and possibly get this gray area addressed with the company.

Follow-on question - and full disclaimer, I didn't look in the PWA or SRH yet, so I'll claim laziness on that one - but I know DDH stops my "TAFB for PerDiem" calculation, but then does it also put me into Rest? Or does rest still begin at the conclusion of the original rotation footprint?

NJ....My attitude sucks cause I'll be leaving shortly....but....I have done the DDH at end of a domestic like you are inquiring about. I did it PS prior to sign in. It let me do it but my attitude is kinda like the companies...they can "grieve it" if they don't like it...especially since it is a "grey area"....my approach may be diff if I had a long career ahead!( but prolly not) My excuse would be "plausible deniability" "cause you used a logical, proactive plan.

Additionally...some one told me, as part of one of the Covid LOA 's ( safety and all)...the per diem is not curtailed during this covid pandemic like it was previously.....the thought being... better to get home to a safe environment and not punish you for "better safety" by stopping your per diem.....That's what I heard so, take it just like Ted's advice and disclaimer

BTW. thanks for info, even though on first(and last) blush, it appears the people who were supposed to give you guidance(ALPA) kinda failed. (I'm not an ALPA basher BTW)

Good luck...OBTW, I personally don't think the company is trying to ferret out PS abusers, especially those doing what you are attempting to do. At least I haven't heard about it
