In the end your not going to leverage a 5 million cost savings into 50 million in other improvements. We have tried that before with no success. The request by the company to allow a increase in the ALV on the MD88 for two months is a good example. Our demands just ended up screwing a lot of pilots in or scheduled for training at the time.
Once the company gets rid of the IOE backlog there would be no real savings at all. Given the rumblings that the glacial pace of vaccinations is going to kill Europe for the summer and the projected flying is going to be adjusted down they might not even care at this point.
wouldn’t the lack of flying to Europe make the matter even worse? There would be very little TOE opportunities and a lot of new pilots needing it.
