Days off are not relaxing days off. They are simply recovery for the next round of abuse on the east coast. Additionally, I have essentially no network of buddies to help me along to the next step. I see colleagues of mine getting jobs at UAL, CAL, Delta, etc based on who they know from college or military or whatever. Because my background in flying was not in the US I do not have that. Still waiting on a call from a major even though my resume is pretty solid.

I simply don't want to wait forever. There is more to life than getting abused by dispatch because I want to get routed around thunderstorms to ATL and finishing up my days at 2 AM.

I hear ya and I think what is even more depressing then that, is once you get that dream job at CAL, DAL (Insert airline here), you realize its the same exact thing, with older more bitter people, probably a more miserable QOL for longer all for a hopefully bigger paycheck, unless of course they merge again or another terrorist attack...........
