Unfortunately Covid happened, and myself and most of the industry went from trying to move on, to hoping to just stay employed. I don't begrudge Spirit hiring those who had apps in longer than me first, in fact I'd be concerned if they didn't.

So yeah I applied as soon as the application window opened up again, because I have been convinced Spirit is the airline I'd like to retire from at the end of my career for several years now.

Try not to begrudge me for my poor timing, and bad luck. Although over this last year I've been lucky enough to avoid a furlough which is certainly something.
I wouldn’t let people discourage you in any way. We’ve all been at the point where we are making career decisions. Some work out and some don’t.
This belittlement or criticism people utter when others are making career decisions is just how some express their own comfort level of where they are currently. But everyone has been there at one point.
Only you know what’s best for your situation and when to make career moves. This industry is tough enough on the timing side for that. Good luck, if you make it, you’ll like it here.
