Have to agree with this sentiment, but also agree with the earlier poster about re-evaluating the cut off time for the long layover hotel. Under 14 hours means you’ve had a long day or the next day will be. Get me to a hotel, let me eat, do my routine and get some rest.
I also think private transport for all layovers should be looked at, barring a property on airport grounds, which may inspire more of those as short hotels.
