I am referring to domestic flying only..I do like some downtown layovers but the number is getting smaller and smaller. Indy, Boston, Little Rock, Houston, among others are good. Then you have the bad.....Jackson, Buffalo, Albany, Tallahassee, Baltimore, Dayton, Providence, NY, and St Louis, just to name a few. I have found most guys who like the downtown layovers are big beer drinkers. They always say this layover is horrible but I have a hole in the wall bar I like to go too.
I guess layover beauty is in the eye of the beer holder. ALB hotel is great. Plenty of food and bars nearby, awesome greenway to run. Buffalo has a lot of good stuff nearby. Tallahassee is sort of boring but a couple great food places. There’s one hippie place that plays movies outside whilst you drink (Big Lebowski was on last time). STL has ball park village and Cardinals or Blues games, plus good restaurants nearby.
Basically, I disagree that we need to change our downtown layovers. Except JAN. That hotel is awful. But they do have $2 domestic beers so 🤷🏼♂️
