I haven’t come across anyone who actually prefers the downtown layover (when it’s far) and the layover is short. Surprised that hasn’t changed over the years.
Happy with 4-C-2-d. 12 hours or less, sure- get me a bed & maybe something to eat nearby. By 14 hours, I’m ready to give up a little time in transit to spend my layover somewhere more interesting than across the street from the EWR parking lot.
