I attempted to post as a separate thread, but as I have not posted for years now it seems my credentials have not been authenticated.
Well, hoping for your feedback in my case.
I am going to obtain the Green Card later this year (Family based application). I am turning 50 this year.
I am an active 777 pilot in the Middle East with close to 10K hours total. I have EASA ATPL(A) licence with 777/787 ratings on it plus the FAA PPL licence.
Since we are going to move to the US (California preferably, where the rest of the Family are) I am looking at converting my licence AND the 777 rating to be able to apply for a flying job with one of the cargo operators in the US.
It seems going to cargo airline will allow me to fly the wide-body aircraft right away with my experience and pay reasonably well to support my Family.
I would appreciate any feedback about the process including the rating conversion. For now I have shortlisted PanAm Academy in Florida offering this bridging program with the 777 rating in it. Perhaps there are some other, better options out there?
Any tips or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
