Why? Obviously PDT thinks they need to save money. The cost of that course is universal, it’s not weighted more heavily towards certain genders or racial groups. Unless someone is privately wealthy every pilot needs to find a way to pay for ratings. Assuming it’s automatically harder for certain groups to pay for flight school is backwards thinking. Only hiring ATP rated pilots universally limits potential hires, whereas publicly stating the preferential hiring of certain groups is discriminatory. I don’t see how narrowing universal hiring criteria is a violation of ‘inclusivity’ goals.
