EUA requires 3 months of data vs. full authorization requiring 6. Yes, more is always better, but at this point, we actually
have all the data required for full authorization- it’s just a matter of getting it through the application review process. That process will take months, but with all the scrutiny there’s been on vaccine reactions, I think it’s pretty unlikely that those data sets include significant evidence of longer-term side effects that
hadn’t become public knowledge by now.
Again, I’m all for allowing the data to go through the established approval process. I just wonder how many people who are skeptical of an emergency authorization based on 3 months of data are really going to be convinced by full approval based on 6.
