Lol for what? Is it against sop to fly the airplane that way? Or is it just not how you'd fly the airplane? As long as its with in the box of SOP/VOL1/FAR's/FCTM/ect then get over it. The more experience people get in the airplane the more comfortable they become with the nuances. But at the end of the day they are pilot flying so, unless you just want to be sky God and fly all the time then get off your high horse. You're not in the military any more I'm not sure if you know that or not.
Maybe you're not on the same plane as Goggles, but what he said FOs were doing is well outside of the window of "technique." And yes, if your reaction to the captain saying that its ok to retract flaps when they aren't needed is to intentionally fly around with flaps out, you're probably in for some extra training. It's not a military thing, it's a basic professionalism thing.
