Build time fast? Here? Not gonna happen. On reserve you will hardly fly at all. And as a junior line holder I’m getting 50-6o hours a month. Don’t mean to be negative but that has been my experience so far. If quality of life, pay, or building time fast is a priority. You will not get that here and just being blatantly honest. What you will get is a Great pilot group, and lots of fellow pilots willing to help you out. Obviously if you can’t get in anywhere else I say go for it. But if anyone else gives you a CJO, take it and run.
I was talking with some reserve pilots in the IAH crew room last week. They said they have been flying every day except a couple. I think it just depends on your base and some luck. As far as not building a lot of time as a junior lineholder, I think it depends on your base, bidding preferences, etc. I know some junior pilots that bid max credit and are getting lines with 90 hours a month. Of course, they only get 12-13 days off a month. We would all like a 90 hour line with 17 days off but that's not realistic right now. So you gotta make a choice between working a lot 0r having more days off.
