As I said before, they are fat, dumb and happy in their management positions. It is no concern to them as long as the operation runs today. Stretch the current pilots to the max by extending them, jr man them, have reserve pilots and FAs operate full trips since there are pretty much no rules or limitations on what they can use reserve pilots and FAs for.


But yes, I think they are in for a rude awakening as hiring picks up and the industry heals, and we get back to where things were before covid.
Does Piedmont ever cancel flights due to staffing? How willing is the pilot group to cover open flying in exchange for premium? Is it cheaper to hire more pilots, or to pay premium to existing pilots?

Answer those questions, and you’ll see that the way they run your company is not a mistake.
