I rode the RJ train for 11 years partly at XJ/9E, a lot has changed for the better for EDV pilots to get to DL. Having been on both sides, pilots being creatures of habit look out for themselves. ALPA claims to be all about "what's best for the profession", and while there have been good things, especially those safety oriented. wWhen it comes to labor issues, agreements, TA's, etc, emotion gets involved and everyone has an opinion. Unfortunately the world turns the way it does. We all get wrapped up in an argument amongst pilots all for the sake of Delta trying to do whatever they can to make more money by flying 35 RJ's. It really is unfortunate, it's a business decision...but again every group looks out for their best interest. I think a majority of guys at DL want to see Endeavor pilots here flying DL jets. With that being said, it's unprecedented to see an airline of the magnitude that DL is, make the mistake that has matured into the potential forfeiture of giving up 35 airplanes. I can guarantee you when they closed the door at CPZ it is not something they thought of, otherwise they would of had a plan in place. Unfortunately now all they can do is lawyer up, and by doing so puts two labor groups at odds with each other for their own best interest and leverage. Ultimately when the fog clears there's going to be at least one party, potentially more, who don't like the result.
