Bypassing no more FO here. 2004-2007 hires have had a much different experience here than those hired since 2014 (New hires). I spent YEARS sitting 12 am to 12 pm reserve on days I wanted off because I was tenuously holding the bottom seat of a fleet I was happy with. Over time the greatest thing about this company is that we all find a niche that works for us. For me, I don’t like reserve nor base trips and as such bypassed until I was assured that I would not have to experience that in my new seat. As far as the next bid goes - several of my 05/06 hire mates will be pulling the trigger. Probably a few years before we see a 5 year Captain again but who knows. The bright side is almost half of the seniority list wasn’t on property for the last contract and numbers say roughly a 1/3 of the of the to 1/2 will retire in the next 36 months, Time will tell.
