Just got off the phone talking to one of our 350 initial cadre.
If his memory serves here is the “IQ slide development” timeline from last time:
1. A350 order announced - Nov 2014
2. First pilots go to the manufacturer training - May 2015
3. They write manuals and DIG and get it all approved by the FAA - May 2015 to Sep 2016
4. Creating the slides

was literally last thing in Oct 2016, just prior to small group trials.
You are right. But that was the 350. The circumstances of it joining our fleet was different. I would argue that a plane like the 787 or the 737 Max (yes, that one will probably be here too) would be managed the same way than for the 220s, and the Embraer 190s (which of course we never got).
Edited: not the 717.
