I never really noticed that as a problem since I learned on 727’s and land everything flat. The tail strike problems aren’t from flaring, but mostly from bounced landings resulting from bad technique. People land with power and bounce, they then chop the power which allows the spoilers to deploy since wheel spin up occurred on the bounce and the power is now at idle, which then leads to a busted plane. Most of the tail strike issues are simply due to poor pilot technique.
From a pax perspective, the packs are terrible on the ground. You see a lot of people reaching up to try to open the gasper only to find it is open. But it is noticeably quieter than the NG.
