The max is just an efficient 737. Still has the alternate go around, kickstand, etc. It is not quite as noisy, but definitely not as quiet as other fleets. The APU and packs seem to work better, but we haven’t beat the new planes to death yet. As far as not being able to flare. I never really noticed that as a problem since I learned on 727’s and land everything flat. The tail strike problems aren’t from flaring, but mostly from bounced landings resulting from bad technique. People land with power and bounce, they then chop the power which allows the spoilers to deploy since wheel spin up occurred on the bounce and the power is now at idle, which then leads to a busted plane. Most of the tail strike issues are simply due to poor pilot technique.
