Default Beat the pavement with low hours

I had lower than even the recommended minimums but I went to every pilot hiring conference I could get myself to. This approach ended up having the HR people remember me after the 2nd event.

I know face to face is not really an option right now but as absolutely soon as it is, get yourself there and I mean every single one of them. It felt like a full time job beating the pavement and was often discouraging at times because of the sheer amount of candidates which were significantly more qualified than I was. I sacrificed time at home, time with the fam, etc because that's what I felt like it took. Where I believe I sat myself apart was creating a rapport and being memorable.

I did have the 4 year degree and military check box on my side but those only got me in front of people. In my opinion, it truly was the personality that the recruiters were hiring, especially at Frontier.

Every single person can update airline apps after every leg. I chose the approach which others may not have been willing to do and, at least for me, it worked. I came out of pocket to ensure I made it to and from events instead of just relying on standby, I texted, I followed social media and commented, I asked questions (without becoming annoying), I met up for drinks and dinners. If you can think it, I probably did it.

I viewed it as a full time job getting a job at a major. I made sure even the background of my room had effort put into it for my virtual interview (aviation memorabilia, etc). The military in me even shined my shoes for a virtual interview, yep. My thought was treat it like it was my one and only shot every time I came in contact with these people. I wanted to convey how hungry I was for the position as well as what I felt like I brought to the company.
