The key piece to remember in all this. Their narrative and their negotiation strategy is unchanged in 30 years. It has worked for them for that long. It is only we that have changed(thanks in no small part to our redtail sisters and brothers). We have tipped the scale and we now own the critical mass. We need to use it. We also must stop referring to our union as “the union”. Ladner/Day/Minicuci/Tacket et al use that in all of their communications to create the myth that “the union” is a bunch of out of touch, negative trouble makers and they dont represent the majority....It needs to be “my union”, “our mec”, “our negotiating committee” etc etc....We need to be vocal about any of our membership who are holding management positions and working to our detriment. All of the chief pilots, the vp of flight ops, director of training, fleet captains etc are card carrying, dues paying union pilots who have benefitted immensely from working under our CBA. They are doing a full court press to try and drive a wedge into our unity.....Dont let them do it
