I was right on the edge of taking it and still would have even if my date would have been last September 1. But being held over for this last year has made it darn near perfect for me. I’ll pay off my house with September 15 paycheck and will be completely debt free (don’t want to liquidate any investments to do it). This was always my goal for retirement. Also, since I turn 63 in October, I will only have to pay for one month of healthcare coverage before I go on Medicare. It would be hard to be any luckier......and as I’ve always said......it’s better to be lucky than good!
