I’m sort of doubtful. A court martial for taking a government computer home that apparently had confidential, secret, and official use only info on it doesn’t seem - to me at least - something a guy with a previously unblemished record, would kill three people for - two of them apparently innocent bystanders. But I was neither on the jury not following it on court TV. I would be surprised if he didn’t appeal though. Especially since the two alternate suspects both took the fifth rather than testifying for either the prosecution or the defense, both of whom subpoenaed them. Not something you often see…

Had the judge allowed them to take the stand and had them take the fifth in front of the jury I think the outcome would have been different.
