if you are talking about coair fares be carefull because if the flight it oversold you are the first to get the boot no matter when you checked in. I know of 2 people who were pulled off first. they told them that they weren't non-reving but bought the ticket. the gate agent said they were the first to get pulled on an oversold flight because they weren't really a customer but an employee. from what I've gathered they don't quarantee anything but being ahead of all the non-revs.
I agree, thats why I would never buy one. I just researched a coair fare, and from IAH to EWR tomorrow you will pay 1007 on coair and 960 on travelocity. I believe the travelocity price is pre-tax so roughly the same price, and like you said being an employee you will not be looked at like a customer.
