The example: Say a person hired in June wasn’t awarded PHL when hired but wanted it. Now a month later they and a new hire in the July class get awarded PHL. Cool! I realize in the grand scheme of things this makes very little difference. But if you have a kid due in a few months it might make a huge difference.
is that what happened? Doesn’t look like any new hires were awarded any position on the system 2021-05 bid. Everyone had a current position and it was a realignment bid. Looks like this bid will determine where new hires will go in seniority order. I could be wrong because I don’t know how new hires bid and don’t feel like looking it up. The contract will give you insight into the process but it’s basically bump and flush.
