This is regionally specific & follows vaccination rates very closely. If you live in a metropolitan or suburban area where vaccination rates are high, life in your area probably feels mostly back to normal. If you’re unvaccinated in the Ozarks where the vaccination rate in some counties is below 15% & the Delta Variant is filling hospitals back up, a little fear of the virus might not be the most irrational thing. And I assume you’re talking only about America because obviously if you look globally, there are many parts of the world that for many reasons are far more vulnerable than even the most under-vaccinated areas of the US.
