So one of the DHL-owned 767-200s previously operated by Atlas officially has been transferred to ABX to operate for DHL on a CMI (or perhaps CM) basis. N651GT, the former N707AX, was one of the original Airborne Express 767-200 parcel carriers, and flew with Airborne/ABX from 2000 to 2012. It was one of 9 767-200s that DHL was contractually-obligated to buy from ABX when DHL closed its intra-US operation, and DHL transferred the flying of all 9 to Atlas in around 2012.
Over the last year, all of these affectionately-named "Terrible Twos" have been pulled from Atlas by DHL. The 4 ex-ANA GE-powered ones (656GT-659GT) are now flown for DHL by Amerijet. The remaining 5 are JT9D-powered ex-TWA ships, including 651GT. Of those, 1 is now flown by 21Air (652GT), one is flown by Amerijet (653GT), and 651GT is now being flown by ABX. That leaves 650GT, which is in maintenance at STS Aviation in MLB, and 655GT, which has been at ROW for more time than would be necessary just to paint it, and so may be getting some maint there as well. Neither Aeroturbine/AerSale (at ROW) or STS are normally maintenance suppliers to ATSG, but that doesn't necessarily mean that one of those aircraft won't also end up being flown by ABX. Rumor was that at least one of those two was going to be flown by 21Air.
For ABX, this -200 would be in addition to the 767-300s rumoured to be coming later this year. With ABX, I don't believe the rumours until I see the aircraft on-property, but 651GT certainly is now. Line number 63, delivered to TWA in July 1983. She's relatively-light on cycles and hours, with 26032 cycles and 87566 hours as of 3/18/21.
Congrats to ABX on the new growth!
