I flew with a CA who grew up and still lives in north Jersey near Sparta. He recommended it as a family friendly area. Most of the people I fly with are in PA, or in NJ near the PA border. Second vote for Point Pleasant. About 47 miles to EWR. Great schools, beach, plenty of inter coastal boating, or ocean boating/fishing. Love it there. Also agree that most of Monmouth and Ocean county are nice, but some parts are more pricy than others. I like Point because it is more affordable and not as uppity as some of the surrounding beach towns. Also, pretty impressed by the local Government in Point.
