How hard you can pull an Immelmann turn without spinning out is just not part of the job. The complexity and precision with which you have to navigate today requires management and monitoring. Next RNAV departure and arrival try hand flying it without a FD single pilot. Same for an RNAV approach. An autopilot is required these days. Now try doing the same with a last second runway change. 🙈 The days of headings and altitudes from a controller (which I could hand fly) are gone.
