Majority of of folks can't keep up when I'm hand flying. So we are somewhat hamstrung to use the automation as they are the lowest common denominator.

Sounds like you are awful at CRM...which is unsurprising from a fighter guy. Just a hint, you're the problem. You just have a small man complex because no one has to call you sir and cowtow anymore.
I hand fly ALL the time and I literally never have a problem. The Captains here are incredibly competent.
