Also there are many concerns with pregnant women and people with heart and blood clot issues.
If grandma and grandpa are that nervous then maybe they shouldn’t drive a car or take any prescription meds because like you say nothing is 100% safe or effective.
People can make the choices they see fit. You don’t need my permission to put your parents behind the wheel or stick them in a room with whomever you see fit. I’m just saying the logic that their vaccination necessarily means they can’t be infected by an unvaccinated person is flawed. (Roughly 5%-35% flawed depending on which vaccine we’re talking about.)
