great news for skywest and horizon
“To be clear, there are a few areas that aren’t open for negotiation: set ratios of mainline to regional aircraft, limitations on our ability to codeshare, or allowing ALPA to determine whether the company may enter into a transaction such as merger or acquisition. ALPA’s proposed ratio language would have meant a prolonged struggle to recover from COVID-19. Given our model, we were able to rely on the steady block hours of our regionals instead of incurring greater losses and debt from flying empty mainline planes or eliminating routes and losing market share. Our scope proposal is based on our business model. We are focused on growth to create and protect jobs, and – as a mid-sized airline – we rely on partnerships, collaborations and alliances with smaller and larger airlines to fuel it.“
