post merger regional mess
In my boredom at the crash pad - here is the breakdown of a/c that would be flying for DELTA/NWA if these two finally do end up merging
50 seat aircraft
Pinnacle - 124
Mesaba - 17
Comair - 86
ASA - 108
Express JET - 21
Mesa - 36
Skywest -56
Republic - 58 for delta?
I found 70 - 70 seat aircraft
At the end of 2008 there will be 133 76 seat aircraft
Add in the 13 emb120's that skywest flies and the 48 saabs mesaba flies and we have a grand total of
772 regional aircraft!
It is going to be real intersting to see how they figure this out, it is my understanding that if you have a contract with a regional, you can't just throw it away in a merger
pinnacle for example has a contract to fly 124 a/c for nwa and 16 for DCI
in the contract it says that nwa can exchange 200's for larger but it says if NWA enters into a merger they can't take a/c away since nwa is out of bancruptcy.
I dont know about any of the other regionals contracts
