I can only assume that hospitalizations follow a very similar distribution. Incremental / excess hospitalizations in the only metric that should count, as unfortunately people will always die, and people will always get sick. My brother is a surgical resident at a large hospital in a major costal city, and this past winter - there was many times that the hospital could not take anyone because the ER/ICU was completely full of CV. I would be pretty mad if myself or a loved one had to go to a further hospital (and waste time) after a heart attack / car accident.
I do think that over the next 6-8 weeks the pandemic will end in the US (similar to India now), because the population at large will get immunity one way or another. Then I can start thinking about my 911 spec again:-)
