it blew my mind when I was at my old regional. Yes I had pride but I understood the “game”.
While it is true that Skywest, or any regional for that matter, doesn’t own the flying. Skywest does own most of their airplanes. That gives their partners a better financing advantage by keeping that debt off their books. In return longer ASA’s are negotiated. It provides more stability because it’s harder for them to wiggle out of the contract
