I suppose we can talk about newhires getting the 777 out of indoc and ordering Porsches from the factory in the meantime.
Or we can have a couple of RJ lifers opine how China rulez and the US droolz while we wait for another silly snapshot. Neither of whom state that they've ever been to China.
I don't see a problem with 777 for new hires 'cuz it's a great plane, easy to fly, the captains and flying FOs are all very experienced, and best of all the school is not too hard. That all compares to ending up on the 756 with its 40 year old tech, multiple models that are VERY different and shouldn't be the same category at all, plus a chance of a new hire flying internationally with a captain who hasn't done an international leg in months and a second FO that might be in the same boat.

I've decided to take a EWR-756 bid this time around and actually had to sit upfront in a 757 from DEN to EWR yesterday. Happily it all looked familiar. After 17 years in the right seat on that fleet I'm hoping my 3 years of bus time won't have corrupted my Boeing brain too much. Also, I'm thinking/hoping I will hold mostly 80+ hours of 76 flying which should be a bit of a raise in monthly income to help pay for the new Porsche. Still waiting on an "allocation" after 2 months. Can't believe a time has arrived when one can't even order a new car without months and months of waiting. Who would ever have believed it??

Heck, if car makers actually follow the current mania and shift production to mostly EVs this might be a warning of what future ICE drivers of any brand can expect. Won't that be fun? Maybe I should order 2
