Lol this argument is so stupid I don't even know where to begin. You may feel comfortable accepting the consequences personally, but many people aren't. It stops becoming a personal decision when your employer will fire you for deciding wrong.
That's like saying you have a choice to speak out against the government in China. You'll be jailed but decisions have consequences.
