The main point for many is that mental health is ignored and we as men are taught to “just deal with it” which exacerbates the problem. If anything, this case highlights how pilots are just as susceptible to issues as non-pilots, and while the FAA owns us, we have to make sure we respect our
mental health. ALPA recognizes this and has the PPS program for such situations.
Well to me it appeared that someone was indeed arguing that he shouldn’t lose his medical by saying that people “thinking mental health is some incurable mental disease that makes you untouchable only contributes to the stigma.”
