These reports include a total of 275,820 suspected reactions (i.e. a single report may contain more than one symptom). The first report was received on 9 December 2020.
Up to and including 28 July 2021, the MHRA received and analysed a total of 225,871 UK reports of suspected ADRs to the COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca. These reports include a total of 806,085 suspected reactions (a single report may contain more than one symptom). The first report was received on 4 January 2021.
Up to and including 28 July 2021, the MHRA received and analysed a total of 11,783 UK reports of suspected ADRs to the COVID-19 Vaccine Moderna. These include a total 35,207 suspected reactions (a single report may contain more than one symptom). The first report was received on 7 April 2021.
Additionally, up to and including 28 July 2021, the MHRA received 978 Yellow Card reports where the brand of vaccine was not specified by the reporter.
In the week since the previous summary for 21 July 2021 we have received a further 3,392 Yellow Cards for the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine, 1,619 for the COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca, 793 for the COVID-19 Vaccine Moderna and 20 where the brand was not specified.
It is important to note that Yellow Card data cannot be used to derive side effect rates or compare the safety profile of COVID-19 vaccinations as many factors can influence ADR reporting
