If you are looking to live in AK, Seward is probably a bit far but commutable from Anchorage. Lots of guys fish in the summer. I shoot skeet and pistols at the Brichwood range north of Anchorage. Winters can be tough on family if you. are gone and they are in AK all winter. I've been in AK for 18yrs and I love it. I enjoy the mild summers. Winters don't bother me. The homeless and petty crime are going up and that does take away from a really nice town. Today its sunny and 66F. Seward is nice to visit but unless you like just the outdoors and not the amenities of a larger city, I wouldn't live there. And, bring your wife up to
AK in the winter and spend a few days. Its really different when the sun rises at 9:30am or later and sets at 3pm.
