I clicked the link that takes you directly to the paper that this article references. The chart from the original article is nowhere to be found in the reference study. In fact, the charts that are shown in the conclusion show just the opposite of the author’s headline.
The paper and the article show different comparisons, different graphical depictions of the same data. The paper looks at the change over a period of months, the article looks at where things stand at the end of the study.
From the paper:
“…those with PhDs had the highest hesitancy. To our knowledge, no other study has evaluated education with this level of granularity, which was possible due to our unusually large sample size (>10,000 participants with PhDs). Further investigation into hesitancy among those with a PhD is warranted.”
