Is that difference worth the extra cost? I can only answer that for myself (yes).

I didn’t mean to start a Mac vs. PC debate. My mom was a computer teacher at our local high school and when they hired her, she successfully got them to change from a PC computer lab to a Mac lab, because she believed so strongly that the Mac line was superior to PC. And when it comes to security (hacking and viruses) they are. But what do you do when you want to do something that only a PC can do? Don’t you have to reboot it to start using parallels? I have a VPS for my trading systems and can’t access it on my IPad. I might be able to on an actual Mac laptop or desktop…I don’t know, but when we had the surface, I was able to check things when I didn’t want to get my laptop out.

Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t choose to go back to the surface for our work device.

As an update to my original problem, after reading through the links jaxsurf sent, it sounded like the root issue was a Windows update that didn’t play well with the other installed drivers and such so I went in and downloaded all of the available optional updates including a recent windows optional update and rebooted the computer. It rebooted normally and everything was working as it is supposed to, so I ran a backup ( I had never backed it up before in 7 years) so if the issue resurfaces, I’ll have a current starting point if I have to uninstall windows and reinstalll or do a factory reset.

Thanks again Jax.
