No this guy was from ASA and his real name is John. He drove a wedge between the pilot groups along with the two MEC's that ended up costing both pilot groups dearly. No one wanted to admit the other side might have a point or even entertain the idea after people like him stirred the pot. Skywest bought ASA first and XJT second, straddled them with inept management/processes/schedulers, played both MEC's into each other, and then tried to force two very different companies to merge and this guy thought that dragging everything out was to his benefit. He is a regional lifer that holds grudges from the Comair days with serious blinders on to his own shortcomings. He turned a lot of relatively neutral xjt people against ASA when it was absolutely crucial we had one voice. The guy is just a sorry excuse for a union pilot.
He was the most vocal/outspoken, but he was not the sole actor in all that. There was a slew of other CRJ pilots that did their fair share.
