What you pro ALPA folks seem to be missing is that there’s a fundamental difference between UAL/DAL and AA, and it’s significantly more important than the name of your union. DAL and UAL aren’t negotiating with Doug Parker, we are. I don’t care how strong your union is or how competent your negotiators are, you need some good faith negotiations coming back at you from across the table. If one party’s sole intent is to drag out negotiations forever only to be put on ice by some judge 5 years down the road, then no union on earth can secure an ILC.
