I think they are putting new hires in seats as the training capacity dictates. They probably saw a spot in the 717 sim schedule and threw a guy in there.

I think most NB-B positions are overstaffed for September, but lots of pilots in those categories are moving up and those positions will be back filled by new hires.
honestly suprised they are not pushing upgrades from the April AE through at a higher rate.
