Ok, one more and then I'm done with story time... Commuting to work on an A321, with my dad (a Delta captain) commuting on the same flight. Full flight, but the Airbus has 2 flight deck jumpseats, so I request one and he requests the other. I go down first, introduce myself, and ask if I could possibly catch a ride to work. The captain barely acknowledges me, and is morose and not at all friendly. Next dad comes down and checks in. The captain turns around and looks at us, and asks "you two related?" Whereupon dad confirms we are. From that moment on, the skipper's manner changes like a light switch and is friendly and chatty the rest of the flight.

Yeah, "no good ole boys club at Delta" pull the other one...
