I know from personal experience that most hospitals will refuse any sort of treatment once admitted. It’s a hope for the best, or here’s your vent, good luck! People are actually suing to force hospitals to allow some form of intervention other than being intubated. It’s crossing the line of medical malpractice on a large scale.
Politics have completely taken this thing over and few have any sort of open mind. The vax may be very effective, but treatments such as the monoclonal AB treatment may be highly effective as well.
Also amazing how anti vaxers will grab at any straw they can to prove that the vaccine isn’t necessary. There are lots of effective treatments in use & development- like the antibodies you mentioned- but every month there’s a new miracle cure based on some Fox News segment that has no scientific backing. I hear a lot less from the antivax crowd about the actual treatments that are being backed by research & results, and a lot more about the present internet flavor of the month.
I think we both agree this has become hyper-politicized, which leads to blind spots on both sides. The virus doesn’t care about red or blue- either something works or it doesn’t. Science is finding vaccines & treatments that can work together to lessen this pandemic. But there has to be science behind the methods we're pursuing. What’s weird is we have experienced immunologist Dr. Fauci & the CDC on one side, and Tucker Carlson & an army of YouTubers on the other, and we’re supposed to pretend they bear equal weight.
