Panic moment at the phone screen? It is like 10 minutes. If you don't start drooling violently and licking windows mid-screening, you will get the offer, unless there are some serious issues in your resume that needs addressing.

If I were the OP, I would fess up and figure out why you can't pass a phone screen. There is something seriously wrong. Either you need serious interview prep, or your resume has some serious problems. Calling him out on that is not necessarily a bad thing but could perhaps help in the future.
