They list an average age of of a vaccinated, hospitalized adult as 73 vs 59 for unvaccinated. Vaccination rates in the 65-74 group were nearly 90% at that time. 50-64 was 70%. Despite the vaccinated being the vast majority of people in those ranges, the unvaccinated accounted for greater than 5x the hospitalizations in Jun. The takeaway from the study over the entire time:
"in persons aged ≥18 years, we demonstrated that cumulative population based rates of COVID-19-associated hospitalization were approximately 17 times higher in unvaccinated 255 persons compared with vaccinated persons, and more than 13 times higher in adults aged ≥65 years"
I think we both may be right. Some of what they’re reporting is pretty confusing I’ll admit and I can see what you’re saying. But I think what you’re stating for their conclusion is comulative. Obviously the vaccine works a lot better in the beginning so the numbers in the first few months will help the stats. In January it shows 1.3% of hospitalizations were partially vaccinated. So theoretically, the unvaxxed are one hundred times more likely to be hospitalized in just the first month. At the same time, I’d rather not be taking a booster once a month. Not that that would ever be a thing… hopefully. As much as they have been moving the goalposts I’d say anything is possible. Israel is already gearing up for their 4th dose.
But the numbers for June are just for June. In doesn’t include the people from previous months. And again, that was two months ago… before it was discovered (or admitted) that the vaccines wear off significantly over time. Being that current data in every other country is up to date and those countries show high percentages of hospitalizations being vaccinated, with some countries having a majority of their hospitalizations being vaccinated… it would be rational to assume the June numbers from that report are much higher and worse today. Especially since they were already getting worse from the previous months as shown in the report.
P.S. I’m sure we disagree on certain things, but I appreciate your rational debate and I get the impression you have an open mind. I feel like some of these other posters wouldn’t believe 2+2=4 unless the FDA or Dr. Fauci told them so face to face in person.
