No, flying midnight to noon is night flying, and brutal night flying at that. Day flying as designated by the contract is show time after 0530 am, too lazy to look at when it ends. We have a great deal of day flying in some aircraft because of the huge postal contract. Lose that and the flying gets a lot worse. Getting day flights doesn’t always go that senior, as often senior people put a priority on deadheads/layovers at their homes so they don’t have to commute, or long layovers.



If someone was seriously considering applying, but this was a concern, I’d definitely get a friend to show them bid packs. I think we have some of the best trips in the system, and some of the worst. But I don’t think I’d swap carriers with many years in, and not much time left to work.
