R11 and r19 were awesome because you only had 5 raps vs 6, so it went senior and you were never used unless it was a red eye for the R19
So in the end, every pilot will have their own hatred for RAPs based on the time and base they were on reserve. And when I was on reserve, that r3 was the worst.
Luckily now with the higher trip rig, the company doesn’t want to pay crews to be 92 hours TAFB, so we see more balanced schedules.
So much better now
I always exceeded guarantee and averaged 80-86 hours on R3 in Dallas for that exact reason. Day one was always a 6 am push, usually to LAX with a long overnight, for a 4 day with a late return. And it was usually on my schedule the day before so I self notified to avoid the surprise wake up call. They only managed to surprise me at 3 am 2 or 3 times. Always with an MX repo of some kind. Otherwise you could usually look at the open time pot and pretty much guess your trip on day one.
That may not be current reality. I haven’t been R3 or Dallas based in a while.
